Birds and Botanicals


A joyful celebration of our avian neighbors in swaths of color on porcelain. This collection represents my most in depth work- pieces are embellished and painted at each stage of the making process- the layering of pigments and glazes creates a soft water color like effect of washes, punctuated by the detailed quirky inquisitive birds. Pieces are finished with a third extra gold luster firing which adds an extra sparkle to each one of a kind piece.

The pieces in this collection are some of my most detailed yet. While past collections have focused on the detail of the birds- here I went further and spent time adding more sculpted elements for the botanical notes in each piece as well. Each mug represents over 4 hours of creating.
