Finches are a common summer bird in St Charles, and I never tire of watching them monopolizing the sunflower stalks. Their sunny color lifts the spirit. Here they are poised with thistle flowers - there are elegant glaze flows over these over looked thorny flowers.
This piece was created from a wheel thrown body with added sculptural elements. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the surface.
Gold luster accented.
Blushed Blue on the inside.
Hand wash only. Not suitable for microwave or dishwasher.
