A curious gold finch is ready to take a bite of thistle flower, as a lemon yellow butterfly keeps it company on the reverse side of the mug. Thistle flowers and leaves are sculpted for extra texture.
This piece was created from a wheel thrown body with added sculptural elements. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the surface.
Gold luster accented.
