The elegant trogon is mostly found in Central America, but I can be sighted in southeastern Arizona during the Spring time breaking months. The male bird is pictured here, framed with a blue ‘pearl’ rim.
This piece was created from a porcelain slab draped over a mold with added sculptural elements and carving. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the surface.
Gold luster accented.
Measure about 9” in length, 4.5” wide and 1” high.
