When researching water birds, I had to give these a try. I have only seen these spoonbills at indoor aviaries, their appearance almost dinosaur like and their plumage decidedly not meant to blend into their habitat. I think that this rendering is one of the best of the batch.
This piece was created from a wheel thrown body with hand painted and carved elements. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the surface.
Gold luster accented.
Clear on the inside.
Hand wash only. Not suitable for microwave or dishwasher.
