Antiqued Orange Botanical PRE-ORDER

These have evolved over years: from often adding botanical elements to other works, the garden is slowly taking over. This month I started carving common fruit into platters. I reference a lot of antique botanical drawings for inspiration, and enjoy representing the plants fruiting phase along with the floral phase on a single specimen.  I intended to single color glazing them, and let the glaze naturally bring out the design in a more subtle way. I love how those turned out; but for my last two platters pictured here, I wanted to do something a bit different and this idea came to me out of nowhere while putting the little one down for a nap (heres to taking a step back every once in a while!). 

Well the black metallic inlay paired with perfectly subtle coloring accents on the botanical elements was a huge wow to pull from the kiln. I only made two- but I would love to make more. 

This Fall I have been focusing more on in person events, and while a web shop update will happen this season, I want to give you an opportunity to collect one of my favorite pieces I have made this year, as a pre-order. 

These are hand carved with an orange botanical branch, and hand painted. Your piece will be similar to those pictured, but please allow variation in the design (as seen between the two platters shown), as I like these to emerge organically.
