Mug depicts three adult sandhill cranes, with their babies peeking out from the brush. I count myself lucky to have seen these elegant and unmistakable birds on a local drive in my area, right by the road side. Tall and elegant, and spotted in a marshy area, I am often surprised by how many species travel through our very developed area, only an hour from Chicago!
This piece was created from a wheel thrown body with added sculptural elements. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the surface.
Gold luster accented.
Blushed blue on the inside.
Hand wash only. Not suitable for microwave or dishwasher.
