Large Turquoise Pedestal Bowl

A unique bowl that is hand built using an imprinted slab of clay to capture the texture of spring cabbage leaves, and formed into a pierced rim for a bowl which was thrown on the wheel. The pedestal is added using a coiling technique and the rim is twisted into a rope. 

This piece was constructed using techniques I've learned over the years, and it was refreshing to make something completely unique and one of a kind. 

The bowl is brushed with a turquoise wash followed by a matte white glaze dip resulting in a watery ephemeral feeling.

Looks lovely as a centerpiece.

Measures 14.5" wide x 5" high.
