When I started carving marbled clay, I couldn't ignore how much the effect reminded me of a sea shell- and the uncarved parts flow like water.
These pieces are made from slabs of marbled clay draped over a mold. They are carved and embellished with sculpted gold gilded sea shells. as a momento to sand between the toes and eyes on the rolling waves.
