COLLECTION IS NOW AVAILABLE HERE
Hello!
I'm excited to be offering new work this Fall- these pots will be available tomorrow (Thursday Oct 30, at 4pm CT). This collection has been announced only to my mailing list- thank-you for taking this extra step to keep up with my work, and is intended to allow people who want to collect my work first access.
The pieces I've been drawn to make the last few months veer towards extremes- some pots are envisioned to be utilitarian - that is, in frequent use. The large 10" salad bowls were born from just that, a pretty bowl, but with purpose. I see giant single portion salads in these, but they are that in-between size where they could also serve for family style meals. Other pieces, like the vases below, could certainly hold flowers, but they exist as an object of beauty. I'm striving to achieve a proportion with the design elements that tickles the brain.
I hope you enjoy the meandering avenues my pottery has taken of late.
Vases
Ironically the vases I've been making are threaded with a common feature - they are carved. The marbled vases are carved to reveal the thin layers of marbled clay. I don't carve with a specific vision beyond accentuating and adding movement to the form. When I started carving the marbled clay, I wasn't sure if I liked them. That part of the process lets me know I am onto something, and it keeps the medium of clay fresh for me to be in, 'discovery' mode.
The orange motif botanical carved vase is an extension of what began with a design on flat platters and trays. On a vertical surface, these glazes stream down the piece. The color choice and subject nod to vintage pottery. I have one in this style for this update, but am working on a few more in this style.

Gold Rimmed Platters & Trays
The Botanical series features fruiting branches and stems, (apple, strawberry and lemon motifs available) . Having referenced vintage botanical water colors for these, I decided to include the floral phase as well, although in nature this usually does not happen.
Tray is made by draping a slab of porcelain over a mold and compressing and cutting it to shape. It is hand carved, such that no two are the same. Some are glazed with a single color, and where the glaze pools in the carving, the design is brought forth. Some are further accented with a dark glaze inlay. The rim is glazed in a true 'antique' gold.
Trays are between 9" to 15" long.

Botanical Sculptural Pieces
These pieces are graced with sculpted decorations of what they might hold. I referenced coffee botanicals for the pedestal mug, strawberries and grapes for the fruit bowls. Oh there is also another lemon stem vase.

Beautiful Basics
These pieces feel earthy, stable, and easy to use. I've tended towards soft or neutral palettes with pops of brushed cobalt blue for these bowls and mugs. Find large 10" bowls, 16 oz folkware mugs, and coil handled bowls. The handled bowls are my kids favorite for oatmeal, and they have incredibly not broken them yet, which I attribute the the rolled handle.

Marbledware
Marbled pottery is my longest running collection at this point- it's been loved for over 5 years now. I'll restock the 16 oz mugs in celestial blue - a shimmering glaze with caramel-violet and stormy blue tones, and the olive-umber combination.
I've also made shallow bowls and 'knot jars'. Knot jars are food safe - as are all my wares. The knot is a true knot which tightens as the clay dries. I have a couple in turquoise and a few in white, too.

I'll send an email when these are published and ready to purchase tomorrow (4pm CT)! Thank you for taking a look and supporting my work.
